City of Longmont Has Lifted the Flood Advisory for the Creekside and Southmoor Neighborhoods

The City of Longmont has lifted the flood advisory for the Creekside and Southmoor neighborhoods. Residents may return to their homes at this time. Residents must understand this may be temporary and they may be asked to re-evacuate if the weather changes.

We are warning residents that there may be electrical hazards in the home. If you have an electrical outage please call the LPC call center at (303) 776-0011. If you smell natural gas, please leave your home and notify Xcel at (800) 895-2999. For other questions, please call our call center at (303) 651-8595.



Southmoor and Creekside Neighborhoods Are Sheltering In Place

As of 16:40pm if you live in the Southmoor (Main Street, Main Street, Pike, Sunset, and homes along Lefthand Creek)  or Creekside (Plateau Road, along South of Lefthand Creek between Hover Street and Diamond Drive, Onyx Circle)  neighborhoods are being advised of possible rising water in your area.

Due to deteriorating inclement weather in the mountains today and tonight we are anticipating rising water levels in your area. Please avoid previously flooded and low lying areas. Remain vigilant to rising water levels. Shelter in place if possible but be prepared to self-evacuate if necessary. This might be the first time some people see the damage to their homes or to the homes of their neighbors. City officials believe it is important for the community to see these images. Evacuation Notice Lifted For Southmoor Neighborhood 10:45am

The City is taking advantage of this short window of dry weather. The evacuation notice in the Southmoor Park neighborhood (Missouri Avenue and South Pratt Parkway) has been lifted. However, it can very dangerous to enter previously evacuated areas. Potential hazards include broken gas lines, hot electric lines, debris, sharp objects, slips, trips and falls, unstable foundations and other potential hazards. Do not attempt to hook up a power generator without a using a licensed electrcian. An improperly installed genearator can create unintended dangers. Residents should be prepared to re-evacuate if conditions change. Call the emergency call center at 303-651-8595 for more information.
